An area rug is a rug made to fit a predefined area, such as a bedroom floor etc. For instance, if a room measures 9′x12′, any 9×12 area rugs can be bought to cover the entire floor and give it a uniform look. These can be used to cover a limited area of floor also and can even be framed and hung on a wall. Jute and wool are the fabrics that are commonly used in making zebra area rugs. While wool area rugs offer comfort to walk on, the jute variant provides durability as it can be washed normally.
